Rev. James Bernacki (also known as “Father Jim”) Jim is happily married to his wife Sandy; they are the proud parents of Matthew (who died in 2008) and Rachelle (married to Denny Casto), and grandparents of Riley Elizabeth and Jacob Casto. Sandy and Jim hail from Western New York, where he served in ministry in Roman Catholic and Episcopal churches. Sandy and Jim came to North Carolina after he served in churches in West Virginia and Southern Ohio. On retiring after 15 years as the Rector for Christ Episcopal Church in Albemarle, Jim has done supply ministry in various Episcopal and Lutheran churches in the greater Charlotte area, and currently serves as part-time Priest Associate at All Saints Episcopal Church in Concord. In addition to his church ministry, Jim had served as the chair of the Crisis Assistance Fund of Stanly County (offering emergency assistance to people facing a crisis situation) and a soccer referee. He currently serves as a member of a Coltrane LIFE Center committee (which is planning to open a branch of this adult day health care center in Stanly County) and a “ham radio” operator. Jim and Sandy have just moved to Concord from Albemarle. Sandy serves as a receptionist at the Coltrane LIFE Center in Concord, and Jim, who has completed a course in intentional interim ministry, is looking to continue ministry as an intentional interim or supply priest in our diocese. Jim and Sandy enjoy taking walks, watching movies, praying and being with each other, and unpacking all the “stuff” that they had accumulated from their former home in Albemarle!
Deacon Lynn Plummer joined St. Mark's Episcopal in 2017, as a newly ordained deacon. His diaconal internship year was spent at St. Alban’s in Davidson, NC. Lynn is a cradle Episcopalian who attended Christ Episcopal Church in Cleveland, NC. He began serving liturgically in his youth as a crucifer and acolyte, and at eighteen began to serve as a lay reader and Lay Eucharistic Minister. Additional church activities included vestryman, senior warden, and convention delegate.
Lynn graduated from Catawba College in 1977, with a BA in Business Administration. Since graduation, he worked in production management. Lynn and his wife have been married almost forty years, and they have two grown children. Lynn enjoys spending his spare time enjoying beautiful places in God’s creation.
Lynn's is interested in the outreach needs in North Mecklenburg County. During his diaconal formation, he found his calling in pastoral care with patients in hospitals, long term care facilities, and assisted living communities. As your deacon, he is prepared to work with you by bringing the world into the church and taking the church to aid in those needs.
